December 1, 2011
Dear Valued Tax Client:
A year ago, when I reached 70 years of age, I decided it was time I began to think about retirement. Of course, my hope was to sell the practice and have this letter be one of introduction to the new owner. But, unfortunately, after a year of searching, a sale didn't happen.
So I have decided I need to just close the doors. We will not do any more tax work as of December 31, 2011.
I want to thank you for your past years’ of business. But more than that I want to thank the many of you who I count as friends. We would share stories of the highs and the lows of the year gone by. I looked forward to that and will miss you all.
Some other tax accountants may be using my list of clients and you may receive letters of solicitation from them. Please understand this doesn't mean I do or do not endorse them; it just gives you some suggestions and options for your 2012 tax preparation.
Also it is best if you take a copy of your 2010 tax return in to your new tax accountant. If you don’t know where that is in your files, now is the time to call and ask us to make you a copy. We won’t be available later.
So God bless you and I pray your future is prosperous.
